An Educational Excursion To Koti Banal Village
Since Uttarakhand lies in seismic zone 4, to make students aware of traditional techniques adapted in earthquake resistant buildings and the materials of construction used in those buildings, this seminar is being organized by Dev Bhoomi School Of Architecture.
Architectural awareness will be created with the help of this seminar, hence will be helpful later on for the designing in hilly regions.
Students will be more aware about conservation, recreation and sustainable architecture.
The following subheads will be covered during the lecture…site planning i.e site layouts, topography, surveying and leveling of the region, heritage of the hilly areas, culture and diversity in the same, tourism and aesthetics appearance with the combination of locally available natural environment, benefits of using local materials., drainage system,. And many more…this will further on impact the students by affecting their planning and designing techniques, also how top adapt the methodologies and working style in such type of hilly architectural regions.

- To make students aware of the heritage and hill architecture in Uttarakhand.
- To introduce the students about local material available.
- To make students aware of traditional techniques adapted in earthquake resistant buildings
- To make an introduction to vernacular and sustainable architecture.
To create an awareness about climatology and sustainability in hilly areas.
