Online Certificate Course in Elements of Design at DBGI 

Department of Fashion Design at Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions (DBGI) is offering an online course in ‘Elements of Design‘. It is a foundation level course structured for the needs of students who plan to pursue a career in Fashion Design. Through the course, the students will be introduced to the basics of the Elements of Design in Fashion which consist of the Visual Elements (such as Point and Line; Shape and Mass; Texture; Light; Colour; and Space, etc.) and Principles of Design (such as Unity and Variety; Balance; Emphasis and Focal Point; Proportion and Scale; Movement, Stability and Rhythm, etc.)

Objective of the Course

The objective of the course is to impart students the basic knowledge of the concepts involved in the ‘Elements of Design’ and help them acquire the underlying knowledge to further work in the field.

Highlights of the Course 

• It will be a Six-Week long course which will be conducted on the Microsoft Team.
• To take admission in the course the student must have passed 10+ 2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council.
• Class duration will be 1-2 hrs, each depending upon the subject and the topic.
• Classes will be Six (6) Days/Week.
• Classes will be held by highly reputed and talented Fashion Design faculty of Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions.
• The course content involves five units which consist of topics –

• Students will be provided home assignments, questionnaires, tests, which will be checked by the respective faculties to guide them better.
• There will be approximately Five (5) projects assigned in total for the Course. Any technique required in an assignment will be discussed in class.
• The evaluation of the course will be based upon the scheduled completion and the grades attained by the students in the assignment. All projects will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Creative and Original approach to solve the problem.
• Sharply presented final product.
• Strong craftsmanship in constructing the artworks.
• Completion of the project on a scheduled due date.
