Attendees: 2nd year of D Pharm, 2nd, 3rd year and 4th year students of B Pharm and all faculty members.
The guest lecture on “An overview of Intellectual Property” was conducted on 06 October 2018.
The guest lecture began with welcome address by Miss Jyoti Pandey, Assistant Professor who introduced and welcomed Dr. Taneja to deliver the lecture.
Dr. Rahul Taneja holds professional degrees including Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science, Master of Intellectual Property Law,Master of Pharmacy, Master of Business Administration and many more ; He has own Intellectual Property in which 4 Copyright and 2 Industrial Design and 3 Patents are filed in his credibility.
The session was then continued by Dr. Taneja who began with an introduction about Intellectual Property Rights.He explained that Intellectual Property is intangible which mainly comprises of Trademarks,Patents, Copyright, Service Marks, Designs ,Trade Secrets, etc and told that brands play a very crucial role and protection of IPR is vitally important for Pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, engineering and other industries.The lecture was received with admiration by the students and they found the slides interesting and informative.Also he showed the students on the Internet (IPR site) on how the Trademarks are being opposed and rejected by the 2nd party and The government of India respectively which was very good information for all the attendees.Feedback of Attendees were taken.
The session ended with hearty thanks and presentation of momento to Dr.Taneja by the Director Dr. Jhuma Samanta.
