Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, Uttarakhand is an integral inception of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The research institute concentrates on the development of new construction techniques, fire safety measures and many more such developments. DBIT being a top college of engineering in Dehradun, takes a pleasure in familiarizing its students with the latest market and industrial trends, with an intention to make them industry-ready.

The industrial trip to CBIR for 3^rd year students from Civil Department was held on 28^th March, 2018. The tour which saw 42 active participants from the department, mainly focused on the knowledge regarding building research like fire safety, construction methods etc. CBRI carries out research in the field of building construction / habitat planning. Building materials, technology, fire engineering and disaster mitigation are some of the research concerns comprising the scope of construction sector in CBRI.

Being in Civil Department, it is highly recommended to stay updated with the latest techniques being introduced in the industry for the all round development of a student. Hence, this industrial tour was a step towards the enhancement in the practical knowledge of the students.
